Pugs don’t have any more or fewer health problems than any other dog if they are properly cared for.
They do need to be kept from overheating, so never leave a pug outside for very long if it is hot, or in your car even for a few minutes, even with the window part-way down. This goes for any dog. A dog can die from the heat in a very short time when locked in a car. Think about dying from having your brain cooked. Not a nice way to go.
Also, they do not need to do a lot of running or hard exercise. This is the case for all "pushed in nose" breeds. They can’t get enough air through their little mushy snouts to cool themselves.
As long as you remember that they are sensitive to the heat, you shouldn’t have any trouble with your pug.
One other note. This is not really a health problem, but pugs have wrinkles, and those wrinkles will get stinky if you don’t clean them frequently. Just a little doggie shampoo and water, on a washcloth, and rinsed thoroughly to prevent the skin from drying out is all you need, but you’ll be dealing with doggie aroma if you don’t keep their little bodies clean.

it all depends on the breeding back ground and how u choose 2 feed/exercise it.there is more of a risk though but normally they are just as healthy as the next dog.check the dogs background ans if its parents an grand parents were healthy.

Yes and no, every dog is different, but because a pugs have such short snouts, they have trouble breathing properly, some have heart conditions, and some have skin allergys.

Because they have extremely short snouts, some Pugs easily scratch their eyes.., and can develop breathing problems. They are also prone to skin infections if the crevices in their face are not kept clean,,..(PDE)(inflammation of the brain) …Um Hip Dysplasia,Patellar Luxation..(the kneecaps can pop in and out…
